I deleted all existing cache in their folder, and made a backup through time machine to an external hard drive, and trying to increase the touch pad's speed, but none of those options worked. I thought the issue could be resolved by downloading Catalina, but I can't even download it from the App Store after following the guide. PLEASE HELP!! Over the last 5 hours, using the touchpad on my MacBook Air has become nearly impossible, with my laptop lagging out every 5 seconds or so. My MacBook Air keeps freezing/lagging out every 5 seconds while using the touchpad.
